Behaviour of UHPFRC under extreme loading
Original language description
UHPFRC is a concrete with dense microstructure which naturally leads to excellent environmental resistance. Its natural property is the self-compactibility and typically very high strengths are achieved in the early age during the hardening process. Theconcrete used in this study exceeded the uniaxial compressive strength of 150 MPa and tensile strength was in the range of 10 MPa. UHPFRC was tested on series of shock loading using impact pendulum acting with an impact speed of 5 m/s. Furthermore, the UHPFRC was subjected to series of projectile impact tests. This simulated direct armed attack or highspeed generated fragment with impact velocity of 700 m/s. In both cases, it was verified that UHPFRC is material with a potential for the protective structure, as its response to impact loading surpassed the normal strength concretes (NSC) and conventional fibre reinforced concretes (FRC). Numerical analysis of the impact phenomena was carried out in AUTODYN software, which is well suited
