Chemical and physical characterization of untreated and treated fly ash from a modern MSWI facility is performed from the perspective of its possible utilization as pozzolan. The acid washing applied in incinerator in order to leach out heavy metals fromfly ash is found to reduce the content of chlorides but it does not solve the high sulfates? content.
