Using OpenMP in OOFEM
Original language description
We aim to speed-up the computation time of our free finite element code with object oriented architecture (OOFEM) for solving mechanical, transport and fluid mechanics problems. We use OpenMP, which is an Applica- tion Program Interface (API) for multi-platform shared-memory parallel programming in C/C++ and Fortran. We use a set of compiler directives, library routines and environment variables that influence the run-time behaviour of our program. We show that by parallelizing the task into several subtasks the computation time can be significantly reduced.
