We investigate the following a weak Ramsey property of a cardinal defined in terms of trees. The results are applied e.g. to prove a nonseparable verson of the Hurewicz theorem: to prove a generalization of a theorem of Hurewicz: A Cech-analytic space Acompletely metrizable space is sigma-locally compact if and only if it does not contain a closed homeomorphic copy of irrationals.
