Fatigue Resistance of Modified Asphalt Binders in Hot Mix Asphalt
Original language description
The presentation discuss asphalt mixture design, its laboratory evaluation and highway pavement design methodologies in Europe and California, United States with regard to resistance to fatigue. The critics of several common practice, recommendations based on latest research findings and their relation to pavement field performance is included in the introduction paragraph. The presentation presents particular data on asphalt mixtures resistance to fatigue study concerning the virgin, chemically modified and two polymer modified asphalt binders. In more details are discussed the differences between 50% loss modulus and dissipated energy concept. Moreover the variability of asphalt mixture as one of the pavement design parameter is included in the paper.
