Life Cycle Energy Analysis of Buildings
Original language description
Life Cycle Energy Analysis (LCEA) is an important issue of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). LCEA accounts for all energy inputs in life cycle of building. Energy consumption is a widely discussed issue, especially from the point of view of measuring the environmental impact of buildings. Numerous studies attribute over the building lifetime three types of energy the operational, embodied and demolition. They try to identify phases of larges energy use and develop strategies how to reduce it. This article presents a structured review of the theoretical issues of LCEA-related literature and then uses studies to illustrate their use for a residential and office building.
