Experimental investigation of durability of concrete structures exposed to freezing temperatures and de-icing agents
Original language description
This research paper is focused on concrete structures exposed to low (freezing) temperatures and de-icing salts. Several test methods, which are in use in Czech Republic, are described in this paper as well as results od those tests. The first series oftest were aimed on concrete structures which are build up by movable formwork system. These tests were aimed on surface scaling caused by de-icing salts at freezing temperatures. The second series od test were aimed on mechanical properties of concrete specimens with ganulated rubber (or rubber powder) content. The specimens with rubber content were tested at laboratory temperature as well as at freezing temperatures. Resistance to frost damage was determined by splitting tensile strength test.
