Composites for road structures based on fly-ashes and mechanical chemically activated materials
Original language description
Within the experimental research on alternative applications for fly-ashes in road structures the attention has been paid on mechanical chemically activated materials usable as additives, binders or intelligent fillers. Namely micro-pulverized dolomiticlime and recycled concrete were assessed and used as substitutes to traditional hydraulic binders like lime or cement in stabilized fly-ash mixes. The aim was to evaluate the possibilities to change or improve mix properties. Products from the coal combustion process and desulphurization (especially different types of power plant fly-ashes) can be used in construction of roadbed. The utilization of fly-ash stabilizers, especially from fluidized combustion, as well as other solid products of combustion and desulphurization arising during the production of electricity has a good potential for applications in the roadbed structures of pavement structures. With a lower density and higher shear strength, fly ashes reduce the ground subsidenc
