Design for Accelerated High Strength Concrete Construction Using Strut-and-Tie Model
Original language description
Early formwork removal of concrete members enables the acceleration of construction project using cast-in-place concrete, which in turn saves construction costs. In this paper, a scenario for evaluating the earliest formwork removal and utilization of high strength concrete corbel are presented. The design and analysis are based on the strut-and-tie modelling. Time-dependent development of compressive strength and modulus of elasticity is defined according to fib Model Code 2010. Besides, a numerical analysis is performed and compared with the strut-and-tie model. The evaluations for capacity and deflection in the early age are established. Based on the results it can be concluded that the strut-and-tie model along with the concrete model of Model Code2010 can be a simple method to evaluate the possibility of accelerated concrete construction.
