Design of structures with regard to controlled cracking
Original language description
Watertight concrete structures are becoming more and more common nowadays. They have many advantages compared to insulated concrete structures and watertight concrete is an effective material for building underground structures and for example fluid tanks. When designing watertight structure, cracking of concrete due to the internal processes must be taken into account and proper reinforcement to control cracking must be designed. Several procedures of designing such reinforcement or calculating crack width have occurred in last years. In this paper few simple structures were designed using those procedures and obtained results were compared. Advantages and disadvantages of these procedures were then discussed.
