Experimental Analysis of Fire Resistant Composite Containing Fine Ceramic Powder

  • Original language description

The following paper summarizes the results of experimental programme aimed at experimental investigation of mechanical properties of fiber-cement composite containing fine ceramic powder. The possible application of this composite could be in industry area with temperature on 1000 degrees C level or for fire-resistance cladding manufacture. Refractory aluminous cement and basalt aggregates together with super-plasticizer reducing the water binder ratio were used. Very positive results have been achievedusing ceramic powder as an integral part of its composition. Combination of two basalt fibers with two lengths (12.7 mm and 6.35 mm) has improved the tensile characteristics. All investigated parameters were analyzed on samples 40 x 40 x 160 mm, which were exposure to high temperatures 600 degrees C and 1000 degrees C. Final compressive strength and tensile strength in bending after three hours exposure to 1000 degrees C are 35.5 MPa respective 3.6 MPa.
