Wang Tiles in Numerical Homogenization Models
Original language description
We present the Wang tiling concept for compression of real-world material microstructures and its application for synthesis of Representative Volume Element (RVE) in first-order numerical homogenization. We comment on reducing computational cost of numerical homogenization and RVE size determination by making use of the Schur complements obtained by eliminating all internal degrees of freedom of each tile.
