Modelling Fresh Concrete Flow through Reinforcing Bars with Computational Homogenization
Original language description
This paper focuses on modeling of fresh concrete flow through the reinforcement. The fresh concrete is considered as a single homogeneous fluid. A Newtonian model is used as a first approximation of the constitutive relation. Flow of the concrete throughthe reinforced area is modeled as a Darcy flow in a porous media. Perme- ability of the porous area is obtained by homogenization of the Stokes flow over a representative volume element. Comparison of the homogenized solution and direct simulation is discussed.
