Application of Textile Reinforced Concrete for Strengthening of Bending Concrete Elements

Result description

This contribution deals with possible application of newly developed textile reinforced concrete for strengthening of existing concrete load-bearing structures. Fine grain concrete with compressive strength over 100 MPa, maximum grain size 1.2 mm and water-binder ratio 0.29 together with glass textile reinforcement was used in the experimental program. Specimens 100 x 100 x 400 mm from ordinary concrete C 30/37 has been strengthened on bending side by 1, 3 and 5 five layers of glass textile. The effectof strengthening was determined by four-point bending test controlled by increase of deformation. Excellent cohesion of concrete surface layer and the strengthening layer during bending test has been approved.
