    Electrical Conductivity of Cement Mortars and Pastes at Early Stages of Setting and Hardening

    In this work we present preliminary results of electrical conductivity measurements in cement pastes and mortars at a first stages of phase transition. Using a newly developed equipment, the dependence of electrical conductivity on temperature, resp. onvarious w/c ratios is determined both for cement pastes and mortars. It is shown that due to nucleation process the concentration of Ca2+ ions, resp. of OHhydroxyl groups is lowered within solidifying system resulting in decrease of total electrical conductivity.
