The value and importance of water must be constantly reminded, because its amount on earth has not changed, but the growing population of people who use it every day affects its quality. Change in water quality may not always be apparent, if it does notexceed the self-purification capacity of the aquatic ecosystem. Therefore it is necessary to regularly monitor ecological conditions and sources of pollution. The pollution of water may lead to a loss of an indispensable source. In addition, pollutants from transport, which is one of the main human activities that pollute the water environment in urban areas, are very diverse and their additional removal from the aquatic environment is very expensive. It is therefore necessary to handle pollution from traffic at the source and to prevent it from spreading in the aquatic ecosystem.
