Measuring of creep properties of polymer fibres in fibre reinforced concrete after cracking formation
Original language description
Fibre reinforced concrete (FRC) is nowadays commonly used in construction industry. A big attention is drawn to steel fibres and properties and behaviour of SFRC (Steel Fibre Reinforced Concrete). FRC with synthetic fibres is applied to a smaller extent.Nevertheless its properties have been investigated and its benefits were proved. The investigations focused on short-term loading and the tests were usually performed at the age 28 days. The long-term properties and the creep of FRC with synthetic fibres have not been inquired into yet. The paper describes the new methodology of measuring long-term creep of synthetic fibres step-by-step. The testing methodology takes into account all factors that influence the creep deformation and possible failure ofthe bended FRC test specimen ? effect of deformation of synthetic fibres and anchoring of fibres in the concrete matrix. It is evident from the first results (presented in the article) that the new testing procedure gives relevant results
