    Form Finding of Cable-Membrane Structures: Dynamic Relaxation with Kinetic Damping

    This paper is focused on the modelling of the initial equilibrium state (form finding) of cable-membrane structures using the dynamic relaxation method. The paper should demonstrate the practical applicability of the dynamic relaxation method in the formfinding process of cable-membrane structures. The four processes with kinetic damping are used. First, the applicability of the procedures will be tested on basic examples that can be solved mathematically. Furthermore, the processes will be used for analyzing of complex cable-membrane structures. Specific procedures will be compared with each other and will discuss their advantages and disadvantages.
