    Effective Heat and Moisture Transport Parameters of Stone Masonry

  • Original language description

    Thermal conductivity and moisture diffusivity of typical building materials involved in the stone masonry are determined as functions of moisture content. For the measurement of thermal conductivity, a transient pulse method is used. The dependence of moisture diffusivity on moisture content is identified by measuring moisture profiles using a capacitance technique and subsequent solution of the inverse problem of moisture diffusion. The obtained material parameters are subjected to a homogenization procedure, and the effective heat and moisture transport parameters of a typical example of the stone masonry as a whole are calculated using Lichtenecker?s formula based on the effective media theory.
