    High Performance Refractory Fiber-cement Composite Containing Secondary Raw Material

    The article deals with experimental investigation of the mechanical properties of the high performance fibre-cement composite for application in the high temperature environment. The effort to maximize the efficient using of non-renewable resources and especially energy-intensive materials lead to effort to achieve maximum efficiency and usability. The refractory properties are guaranteed by using basalt aggregates, aluminous cement and combination of the basalt fibres for tensile characteristics. The fine ceramics powder, secondary raw material from bricks production with pozzolanic properties, works mainly as fine filler. The flexural strength, the compressive strength and the fracture energy were investigated on specimens in size 40 x 40 x 160 mm. The optimal amount of fine ceramic powder in mixture of refractory composite is 225 kg/m3 according to provided experimental program, when the compressive strength is 80.2 MPa, flexural strength is 11.7 MPa and fracture energy 178.2 J/m2.
