Environmental Conditions Effect on Adhesive Connections in Glass Structures
Original language description
The adhesive joint is a relatively new technology in façade or/and civil engineering, especially in regard to usage of semi-rigid and rigid adhesives. These adhesives were often developed for purposes of automotive industry and for civil engineering theyalso offer many advantages. But, at the same time, these new applications of glued joints are subjected to specific requirements, eg. a longer service life. The mechanical properties of the bond are affected by many factors that are important for the safe structural design. This article deals with the experimental analysis of adhesive connections made with variety of substrates that were exposed to accelerated laboratory ageing.
