    BIM (Building Information Modelling) is a worldwide acknowledged, complex and unifying process involving all parts of a lifecycle of a building, connecting cooperation between stakeholders and it enables placing all information into a single Software model. Each phase from preparation, over construction and operation up to final deconstruction plays its distinct part in the BIM process. This article focuses on the third, operation, mostly represented by Facility Management (FM). Facility Management, notonly in the context of BIM, is generally understood as maintenance and administration of a building and ensuring services for the customer, but may not be necessarily restricted to these only. FM covers the longest time period in lifecycles of buildings. The database, which comes out during the BIM process, is therefore of particular importance to FM.
