A feasibility study on the structural use of fibre reinforced concrete with recycled aggregate
Original language description
This paper contributes to the topic of sustainable building concerning the recycling of waste rubble concrete from demolition. In the first part the properties of crushed concrete aggregate and their influence on concrete made entirely from recycled aggregate are discussed. A new approach to design of the concrete mix from recycled concrete aggregate is presented. Properties of the recycled aggregate concrete composite measured in laboratory and results of laboratory loading of prisms in compression machine are demonstrated. The possibilities of numerical simulation of the recycled aggregate concrete are shown. Feasibility of the structural use of composites from recycled aggregate is investigated using probabilistic analysis of a load-bearing wall from the composite material. Thermal properties of the composite were determined and U-value of the wall considered was calculated.
