Analysis of Behaviour of Composite Structures with UHPC Members

  • Original language description

UHPC is a modern material with great characteristics and shows all important properties for efficient structural design and construction process. Its applications lead to optimization of structures and to minimization of material consumption. Additionally, UHPC is connected with an efficient construction methods and is connected with sustainability of structures as well as significant reduction of required maintenance of structural members. Applications of UHPC as a main structural member is currently mostly secondary. In this paper there is a brief analysis of continuous beam with box girder cross section, which presents structural system with combination of UHPC shear members with monolithic slabs. The main idea for this model is application of this composite structural system on structures with great importance such as bridges and other long-span structures. The aim of this paper is to present basic theoretical background behind the structural applications of UHPC. Additionally, preliminary numerical results of bridge model with UHPC composite structural system are presented in the paper.
