Original language description
This contribution deals with possible application of textile reinforced concrete (TRC) for strengthening of compressed bricks masonry columns. Three tested columns with dimension 300 x 300 x 1040 mm, which two of them were strengthened by the TRC, were made from ordinary burnt bricks and lime-cement mortal with characteristics compressive strength 5.51 MPa. Used cement matrix for textile reinforced concrete is characterized by flexural strength 15.7 MPa and compressive strength 100 MPa. The load-bearing capacity in compression increased to 109 %, resp. 148 %, in compare to non-strengthened column due to wrapping of columns by TRC. Two different ways of wrapping by alkali-resistant glass textile (575 kg/m2) were tested.
