  • Original language description

This paper presents experimental investigation of steel joints between hollow and open sections. Experiments were conducted on the end of last year and they were composed from eight specimens. These specimens are divided in two types of loading – compression and in-plane bending in brace. Both types of joint are focused on two modes of failure which can occur in this type of joints. These modes of failure are chord web failure and brace failure. Half of specimens are designed out of range of validity current analytical model, which should allow the extension of the analytical model outside of the current limits. Experiment preparation, test set-up and final deformed shapes are described.
