Hydrothermal Conditions Influence on Aluminous Cement Pastes with Metakaolin
Original language description
Following contribution focuses on the influence of hydrothermal curing conditions applied at early age of cement pastes and theirs reaction to elevated temperatures. Hydrothermal curing in the autoclave device (150°C, 0.45 MPa and 100% humidity) took place for 4 hours. Tested pastes were made from aluminous cement Secar®71 suitable for refractory composites. The cement pastes were modified by various amount of metakaolin (0%, 5%, 10% and 15% of cement weight). Benefit of hydrothermal curing lies in rapid increase of mechanical properties at the age of 1 day after production. Basic mechanical properties, fracture energy, dynamic modulus of elasticity were tested on specimens 40 x 40 x 160 mm exposed to 105 °C, 600 °C and 1000 °C for 3 hours.
