This article deals with several types of sandstones which were selected from function quarries in Czech Republic. Scope of several measurement performed on sandstones are presented in this article. Basic physical properties, compressive strengths, bending strengths, hygric transport abilities (liquid water transport and water vapour transport) and thermal characteristics were determined and compared.
