Selected geotechnical applications of deformation sensing by fibre optics and problems with gathered data evaluation
Original language description
The paper presents the basic principles of the application of two optic fibre methods for deformation measurement in geotechnics - Brillouin Optical Time Domain Analysis (BOTDA) and Fibre Bragg Gratings (FBG). It briefly describes the possible and tested utilization of these methods (concerning both laboratory testing and on site applications) and in more details it deals with several issues and problems concerning specific adjustments of sensors, data interpretation and evaluation.
