External Thermal Insulation Composite System and Problem with Biodegradation

  • Original language description

The external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS) are common used in the Central Europe since 90's. Nowadays the most of ETICS realized in the first run arc at the end of their service life. And it is necessaiy to renovate it and to design new ETICS with longer service life. Our study showed the problem with mold growth on the surface of ETICS related to using biocide during the whole life of building and the frequency of it. The mold is visible on the surface the façade but experiments showed the occurrence of mold to the other layer through ETICS. There were identified mold from surface of facades in towns in Czech Republic. There were also analysed the growth mold in the other layers of ETICS. The most identified mold were .4 Iternaria, cladosporium, Epicoccum, Penicillium, .4spergillus, Mucor, Aureohasidium, Acremonium etc. The growth of mold was selective respectively not all of occurred on surfaces are isolate in deeper layers of system. There was conducted a laboratory experiment where mold grew through layers of new prepared ETICS iii laboratory conditions. And there were tested the nanofiber textile as a protection against mold growth through ETICS.
