Comparison of Zone and CFD Fire Model
Original language description
This paper is focused on zone and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) fire model. The description of fire models and approaches to assessment of fire resistance are presented. The results by using two programs – Consolidated Model of Fire Growth and Smoke Transport (CFast based on a zone model) and Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS based on a CFD model), developed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology in the USA, are compared.
