    DEVELOPMENT OF FIBRE-REINFORCED POLYMER PERFOBOND RIB SHEAR CONNECTOR

    FRP (fibre-reinforced polymers) is modern material with high strength, low weight but low modulus of elasticity. The composition of FRP with concrete slab can add missing stiffness. This study is about composite system. The system consist of FRP plates made by hand lay-up process and HPC (high performance concrete) slab. They are connected by perforation of the FRP plate. FRP and HPC are both materials with high durability which makes this composition great for structures with long service live like bridges. This solution can compete with the traditional steel and concrete structures due to low lifecycle costs. Three push out test specimens were tested to assess the shear behavior of perfobond rib shear connectors.
