    The paper focuses on the dynamic relaxation method, which is used for numerical analysis of geometrically nonlinear structures. In this article it is used for the analysis of membrane and cable structures. The influence of damping factor on the speed of convergence and stability calculation will be examined. The effect of critical damping and its estimate for the membrane structures will be explored.
