A Comparison of Spectators Induced Grandstand Vibrations and Fans Behavior during Two Ice Hockey Games between the Same Teams in the Regular Season and in the Playoffs
Original language description
The previous experiments focused on the football spectators’ behaviour and grandstand vibrations were carried out at the AC Sparta football stadium in Prague. The followed experiments described in the paper continued on above mentioned ones. The topic is the same, only fans are different – ice hockey fans. The experiments were realized at the ice hockey stadium in Pilsen and compared the behaviour of spectators during two matches of the same two teams but in different phases of the competition – the regular season and playoffs. The experiment was focused on the part of the stadium where the most active fans of a home team are usually concentrated. The observed grandstand vibrations were substantially smaller than at the football stadium. It was caused by the different grandstand structural systems and also by the dissimilar behaviour of football and ice hockey spectators. Other subtypes of fans behaviour were distinguished beside the types identified on the football stadium.
