Original language description
The presented study is focused on the structural performance of various mortars intended for applications in conservation and restoration of architectural heritage. To reveal the structural behavior of individual mortar-types, an integrated experimental-numerical approach was pursued to identify the key mortar parameters influencing the load-bearing capacity of masonry piers subjected to a quasi-static loading, in particular a combination of compression and bending. To capture the strain localization due to cracking or plastic deformation of bed joints, a full-field non-contact Digital Image Correlation (DIC) technique was employed.
