Original language description
Stabilization effects of textile membranes on in-plane and out-of-plane behaviour of a steel tube arch supporting the membranes is investigated. Model of a large membrane structure us-ing Ferrari® Précontraint 702S fabric was tested in laboratory under various loadings and the resulting stress/deflection values are presented. The stability behaviour of the inner supporting steel tube was of primary interest. The SOFiSTiK software was employed to analyse the be-haviour in 3D GNIA with respect to the mesh sensitivity, proper modelling of the membrane prestressing and boundary conditions and validated using test results. Parametric studies cover membranes supported by one central steel arch with various geometries.
