Photonic Doppler Velocimetry in Experimetnal Analysis of High-velocity Phenomena
Original language description
An analysis of concrete structures under high strain rates is very demanding on a choice of a measurement method. Photonic Doppler Velocimetry (PDV) is a method capable of tracking an object in a motion of high velocity and acceleration. However, PDV is currently used mainly for the analysis of metals; its application in concrete-based materials is not very common, yet. This paper presents results from an experiment focused on blast loading of concrete specimens analysed by PDV. The soffit of full-scale specimens was tracked; the velocity-time dependence of the soffit was obtained. The results show a great potential of PDV measurement in experimental analysis of blast-loaded concrete structures.
