  • Original language description

    Serviceability and durability of concrete structures is strongly affected by presence of cracks. In this context, the avoidance of restraint-induced cracking - and in unavoidable cases the reduction of its intensity - is of major importance. At CTU Prague a thermo-mechanical coupled material model was elaborated in order to predict temperature field, resulting stresses as well as crack formation in a concrete member. The thermal part uses Hydrating model, considering the mix design and thermal boundary conditions. The mechanical part combines extended B3 creep model with isotropic damage model for cracking. Independent of this, a comprehensive experimental study of the occurring stress history in restrained concrete members was conducted at TU Graz.
