Capillary trapping of non7wetting phase prevents full saturation of the porous media including soil. Neutron tomography was utilized to quantitatively measure the mass transfer of air from regions fine7grained material to coarse grained material in quasi saturated porous media. The effect of capillary trapped gas on water flow was evaluated.
