Original language description
This article deals with the cultural identity of the landscape, its nature and its sustainable development. The European Landscape Convention is binding on Contracting States to recognize the country in law as an essential component of the environment, to express the diversity of the common cultural and natural heritage and the basis of their identity. However, the identity of the people postulates the identity of the places (landscape). The identity of the landscape (in the context of this text) is associated with its character. Our country is a cultural landscape. Its character is reflected, among other things, by historical landscape structures. Their recognition and protection also contributes to the fulfillment of Sustainable Development Goals, in particular Goal no. 15: Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems , sutainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss.
