ACCURACY OF AERIAL PHOTOGRAMMETRY DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF UNNECESSARY MEASUREMENTS
Original language description
The use of UAVs is becoming more and more common today. Otherwise, it is not in the field of modern geodesy only, where this technology is already commonly used to facilitate certain types of work. Especially for jobs that do not require extra high precision, work in large areas, or work in poorly accessible places. This article focuses on comparing point clouds produced by the UAV measurement with terrestrial laser scanning point cloud and determining the results precision according to a number of ground control points and images used in evaluation. In the processing procedure, the point cloud was created with use of all the captured images and ground control points at first. The next point clouds were created by excluding gradually more and more ground control points (excluding ended at final number of four remaining GCPs) and then excluding gradually more and more images. All these processes took place in Agisoft Photoscan software. The created point clouds were cropped in the Cloud Compare program to the area bounded by the outer ground control points and individual comparisons were made both with ground laser scanning and with each other. The purpose of this test was to determine the influence of the number of images and the number and location of ground control points on the accuracy of the determined point cloud.
