Testing DEM accuracy for different type of source data
Original language description
The history of digital terrain modelling started in the 50's. Digital terrain modelling is nowadays one of the basic ways of a terrain representation. The basic task of creating the digital terrain model (DTM) includes data collection, generation, visualization, interpretation and application. There can be various sources of data to generate DTM. The source data set is the basic element for the accuracy of the resulting model. There is also described a few series of tests on the accuracy of DEM source data. The comparison of three methods of data collection: tacheometry, GNSS measurement and levelling are one goal of the study. A special measuring bar has been also developed for simultaneous measurement. This adaptation enables data acquisition in the same time on the same place. The main purpose of this study is to choose the best measurement methods for very precise digital terrain model in a specific area and evaluate usability of that special measuring bar.
