Optimized Wang Cubes for reconstruction of heterogeneous materials
Original language description
This contribution deals with reconstruction of 3D models for random heterogeneous materials representing impenetrable spherical particles in a matrix. These models are created via Wang tiling concept, which is able to reduce unwanted periodicity artefacts in material domain in comparison with the traditional Periodic Unit Cell method. The basis for tiling is a set of Wang 3D tiles, in our case generated with molecular dynamics. The main content of this work is to introduce and compare methods for creation of Wang cubes with emphasis on boundary conditions and required material properties, which are achieved by means of modified particle swarm optimization.
