Water Thermoporometry of Aerated Autoclaved Concrete

  • Original language description

The pore size distribution of autoclaved aerated concrete is studied using thermoporometry. As a probe, liquid the water is used. The pore size distribution is derived from differential scanning calorimetry during the melting process of ice in the pores. The thermal analysis is performed in the temperature interval from -30 degrees C to 15 degrees C with a heating rate of 2 degrees C/min. The obtained results are compared with the results which are received from mercury intrusion porometry. It is found out that the pore distribution obtained by the two methods is in good agreement up to the pore size of 200 nm, while thermoporometry is not appropriate for materials with pore sizes greater than 200 nm.
