Design & Macromechanical Analysis of Trabecular Structures Produced by SLM
Original language description
In the last years a lot of focus has been put on trabecular structures which are designed for an implantation into bones. The reason is that the structures offer many advantages compared to compact implants. One of the main advantages is a possibility to influence mechanical properties of the structures by changing its morphology. The aim is to converge towards mechanical properties of bones and to prevent an unwanted stress shielding. The other advantage is that the structures enable ingrowth of bone issue which provides better fixation bone-implant. The aim of this study is to design several trabecular structures with different morphology (a shape and size of pores, width of trabeculas) and to test the structures macromechanically.
