Vliv typu a velikosti svaru na únosnost styčníků hranatých uzavřených průřezů
Original language description
This paper describes experimental and numerical investigation of square hollow section joints. Examined welded T-joints are loaded by axial compression or in-plane bending. Three different types of weld are used. Material characteristics are provided. These characteristics are necessary for creation of advanced numerical models. The paper shows their validation based on the experimental data. These numerical models, made in FE software Abaqus, can describe the behaviour of square or rectangular hollow section joints better than present analytical formulas. Numerical models can also consider weld type and size effect on strength of the joint. Proper design of the weld can lead to considerable economical savings.
