Study of Pore Structure of Refractory Concrete with Ceramic Powder Addition

  • Original language description

The issue of pore structure of refractory composite is the aim of this contribution. Investigated refractory composite consists of aluminous cement and natural basalt aggregate. Low water to binder ratio was achieved by high dosage of super-plasticizer. Different total amount of fine ground ceramic powder (FGCP) was applied in studied composites. Ceramic fibres improve flexural strength and resistance to elevated temperature in general. Mercury intrusion porosimetry (MIP) was used for determination of pore volume and the pore diameters. The pore size distribution curves and values of open and total porosity are shown. The water absorption test that describes the pore structure of investigated material was performed, as well. All parameters were investigated on studied composite material, which contained various replacement of calcium aluminous cement (CAC) by FGCP. Conducted measurement confirmed essential impact of FGCP application on the final characteristics of pore structure of refractory composites.
