Domain decomposition methods in special geotechnical problems
Original language description
This paper concerns with modified FETI method which can efficiently eliminate some obstacles emerging during description of displacement discontinuity in problems of mechanics. The penalty method, which is usually used, can lead to large penalty parameters which deteriorate behaviour of solvers of algebraic equations and other algorithms. In the FETI method, which is a domain decomposition method, the discontinuity between subdomains can be easily introduced. Moreover, continuity can be enforced in the same framework too. The modified FETI method was used for solution of two geotechnical problems, namely in pullout test of a tendon from the soil anchor and in the slope stability analysis.
