This paper describes research on behaviour of timber joint with inserted steel plates during fire. For validation of numerical model there were conducted experiments of timber joint with steel plate during tensile stress at normal temperature. The study will be expanded by experiments during fire. The experimental study has provided important data for design and prediction of failure mode of these joints. The design-oriented model using Component based Finite Element Model (CBFEM) will be prepared, validated and verified for practice.
