THE COSTS, BENEFITS AND VALUE OF HIGH-DENSITY URBAN LIVING
Original language description
Deciding on any future development of the city should aim at planning and managing cities in a sustainable way, maximizing economic opportunities, the efficiency of public services and minimizing social inequality and environmental damage. Urbanism and urban budgets are closely linked. With regard to future expenditures and revenues of the city, as well as the quality of life in them, it is always necessary to decide what type, intensity and spatial structure of development to choose. It is the density of cities that is an important aspect of the functioning of cities, it is the intensity of development and the number of people living in a particular urban area. Denser cities have positive cumulative impacts, operate more efficiently and economically. However, a large number of negative externalities can also arise as a result of large urban densities.
